Hello Everyone,
Even though our dismal season has kept us from riding the trails, a lot has been still going on. We had a great turnout at the January Monthly Meeting at The Riverside Inn in beautiful Side Lake, MN, where a big “Thank You!” goes out to owners Marty & Dianne McLaughlin for their special hospitality. Details of the meeting are in the minutes.
PathBlazers member Dan Tarnowski opened up his shop and a hardy group of guys hammered out our new shelter over a couple of days. The shelter is now in place on the Chisholm to Side Lake trail at the Day Brook tee. Thanks to all that helped out. Now if we could just get some much needed snow so we all can enjoy the hard work by this group. Another shelter is also being planned for next year.
Despite the lack of snow our club ride went on as planned, well kind of. The group trailered to Crane Lake and enjoyed some lake riding. The ice was great and there was enough snow to put on some well-deserved miles on the sleds. It turned out to be a great weekend and the way things are going, the only riding of the year. Not sure why, but event planner Jamie McKenney received the coveted Pink Tape Award! We are sure some insight on how she achieved this prestigious honor will come to light at our February monthly club meeting.
Great news from trail coordinator Joe McKenney. He reported that the trails are ready to go any time it wants to start snowing. There are some small things he would like to take care of, so be watching your emails and Facebook posts for any future trail work days. T
he best news of all is that the order for our new Piston Bully grooming tractor is processed and the club is looking at taking delivery in October. So many are to thank for all the hard work to allow our club to make this purchase.
