January 2025 Club Update

Greetings,
We hope you had a great Christmas and Happy New Years to all. 50 PathBlazers members joined together at our
last monthly meeting and Christmas Gift Exchange at Valentini’s to celebrate the season and take care of some club
business at the same time. What a great time! We can’t cover all the fun, but the minutes from the meeting have been
included.

As we await for some measurable snow to ride, trail coordinator Joe McKenney and a crew of dedicated members
have been busy working on the trails to make our rides even more enjoyable and safe. Signage and brushing work have
been going on for several weeks. We are very thankful for all the volunteers. A big thank you goes out to L&L Rentals in
Hibbing as they gave the club a great rate on a Wacker tracked skid steer to work along with our Limb Beaver equipped
ASV to help speed up the work. Look for more workdays to be scheduled. Emails or Facebook notifications will be sent.

The PathBlazers held the first of two Snowmobile Safety Field Test days on Saturday, January 4th. 15 youth and 2
adults received training and certification by the PathBlazers training staff. A big “Thank You” goes out to DNR
conservation officer Marc Johnson for taking time to talk to the class about snowmobile safety. We would also like to
thank instructor Jim Watkins and Jessica Stahl and the other volunteers for their hard work to make this training possible.
Our next class will be Saturday, March 15, 2025 starting at 9:00am. To register, contact Jim Watkins @ 218-969-0871
or Jessica Stahl @ 218-966-8231. Hopefully we will be able to take a trail ride after this class.

PathBlazers club ride is still on for Friday, Jan. 31 – Feb. 2, 2025 to Crane Lake. If we cannot ride from Chisholm
on the trails, and there is enough snow on the lakes, we will be trailing to Crane Lake and exploring some lakeshore. The
places to stay are Cabins on Crane (218-993-2401 or https://cabinsoncrane.com/) and The Voyagaire Lodge
(218-993-2266 or online at https://www.voyagaire.com/the-lodge/guest-rooms/). YOU will be responsible to make your
own reservations. At this time, we recommend calling for your reservations. These trips are full of fun and adventure for
the whole family. For more info, contact Jamie McKenney @ 218-969-7702 or any one of the board members listed on
the bottom of the page. Not a member? No problem! Everyone is welcome to join us.

Wednesday, January 15, 2025, will be our next monthly meeting at The Riverside Inn in beautiful Side Lake,
MN. The meeting starts at 6:00pm. As always, we ask that you bring some nonperishable food items, which this month
goes to Hibbing Salvation Army. We hope you can join us.
