August 2025 Club Update
Greetings,
It’s been a great summer, but it’s that time of year to start gearing up for the upcoming ’25-’26 season. Our first meeting to kick off the season will be Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at Sammy’s Pizza in Hibbing. The meeting will start at 6:00pm. All are welcome to attend.
October will bring our voters meeting and pizza party which is very important as our club will be seeking a President and a treasurer. Nominations and voting will be at the meeting that night. Out of our 140+ club members there is bound to be quite a few candidates to fill these board positions. Meeting date and location to be announced soon.
Current and longtime club President Dan Marich made it known to the board this summer that he would like to fully retire and would not be accepting any nominations for president this October. Dan stated, “It has been a pleasure to work with each of you on the positive growth of the Club over the years. It’s been a real team effort to achieve everything that we have as a progressive Club, and it’s been an honor for me to be on this team and to be trusted in the positions of President and trail administrator. I feel it is time and only healthy after a number of years for the Club to elect new leadership….”. Dan made it known that he wasn’t going to absent from the club and would gladly be available to the club and the new Club president for any questions, comments and direction. Thanks, Dan, for all you have done for us over the past several years.
The position of treasure is also open and will be looking to the members for nominations and voting at the October meeting. The Club’s past treasurer Erin Schirmer stepped down after last season to focus on family. A special election was held at our last meeting of the ’24-’25 season without any results as there were no nominations. PathBlazers member Tammy Johnson was appointed as acting treasurer until our voters meeting in October. And on a side note, congratulations to Erin and Ryan as they welcomed home a very healthy baby boy, Beau Ryan!
Trail coordinator Joe McKenney has started to get out on the trails and do some cutting. He will be scheduling trail work and equipment maintenance in the near future.
